The Latino Faculty Alliance was formed in the 1990s to provide a space for Latina/o/x and Hispanic faculty to connect, support Latinx and Hispanic communities on and off campus, and to promote and advocate for diversity initiatives at UNLV. The group’s name was changed to the Latina/o Faculty Alliance and then to the Latinx Faculty Alliance to be more inclusive of all gender identities. In 2023 the group decided to formally include UNLV staff members and the name was changed to the Latinx Faculty and Staff Alliance (LFSA).
